How Much For a Super Bowl Ticket This Year? Super Bowl XLVIII Prices Set and Announced
Thinking about checking out the 48th installment of the NFL Super Bowl at MetLife Stadium in February of 2014? Hopefully you've saved your pennies. The NFL says the highest-priced tickets for this season's Super Bowl will be around $2,600.Those 9,000 premium tickets are more than double the price of last year's seats of the same type. Last year in New Orleans, those premium seats went for a "meager" $1,250.
The next level of seating is priced around $1,500 per ticket, $550 more than their $950 New Orleans counterparts. Unlike the upper-tier tickets, the lowest price general admission ticket prices (on average) have fallen from $650 last year to around $500 this year. Most general admission tickets are expected to sell for under $1,000.
NFL Spokesperson Brian McCarthy says the significant price increase in many ticket tiers is due to a larger than normal buzz and demand due to the unique location of this year's game. Most Super Bowl games take place in warmer climates, and/or indoors.
With the price jump from last year's indoor game, NFL officials better hope for nice weather for this year's cold-climate outdoor game; or admission better come with a nice blanket.
