
Untraceable ‘Ghost Gun’ Found During Hermantown Arrest
The Hermantown Police Department recently posted about an arrest that was made that resulted in the seizure of a 'Ghost Gun.' Ghost guns are individually manufactured with no serial numbers.

Surprisingly, these guns are legal in Minnesota after the Minnesota Supreme Court ruled that under federal law, "There's no requirement for a privately made firearm to need a serial number, according to FOX9. This likely will change in the future, and efforts are underway to alter the Minnesota legislature on Ghost Guns.
With advancements in 3D printing, Ghost Guns are easier than ever to manufacture and are a way for criminals to possess weapons without background checks or restrictions.
Hermantown Arrest Suspect With Active Warrants
Around 5 PM on March 18th, a Hermantown Police Officer spotted a 20-year-old male with active warrants entering a retail store. The officer entered the store and confirmed the ID. The officer placed him under arrest, but the suspect resisted and tried to flee. He was quickly taken into custody.
After searching the 20-year-old male, they found a 'ghost gun.'
They also found two magazines for the handgun with over 30 rounds of ammunition. It appears to be 9mm full metal jacket bullets.
The male is being charged with Illegal carrying of a handgun, obstruction, resisting arrest, and active warrants.
The Hermantown Police Department commends the officer for getting another dangerous weapon off the street.
