Harold’s Fiasco Finds New Home At Big Lake Golf Resort

Harold's Fiasco happens every August. What started out as a birthday bash for Harold Ankrum has turned into a huge fundraiser that has raised over half a million dollars over the years for the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. Harold was even recently honored with a donor brick at the hospital in Memphis for all his fundraising efforts.

Each year, Harold's Fiasco takes place at the Pine Hill Golf Club in Carlton, Minnesota. Last year the owners retired and sold the golf course, which closed permanently last October.

Harold's Fiasco Now Moves To Big Lake Golf Resort

Big Lake Golf Resort is located nearby at 780 Cary Road in Cloquet, MN. Harold's Fiasco golf scramble will take place on Saturday, August 24.

New venue, new opportunities

I've golfed at Big Lake Golf Resort several times. It was actually the first round I had all year on March 1st! Isn't that insane? There was still frozen water in spots on the fairway, but it was really nice to get out and golf after a dismal Northland winter.

Big Lake Golf Resort is a nine-hole course, just like Pine Hill Golf Club. Big Lake Golf has a larger bar and dining area, along with a full-service restaurant for people to enjoy.

Big Lake is a charming course that is usually in very good condition. It's the perfect new location for Harold's Fiasco.
