Halloween-themed fun awaits in Cloquet, including an outdoor stage show, with the Halloween Spooktacular on Thursday, October 29 and Friday, 30.

Organizers say the Halloween Spooktacular is a fun and safe event for all ages that takes place in the County Seat Theater parking lot.  The suggested donation is $20 per car.

The festivities begin each day with "Drive-thru Parking Lot Haunts" at 6:00 p.m.  The 45-minute outdoor stage show, presented by the Seat Of Your Pants Parking Lot Players, begins at 6:30 p.m.  Concessions, hot beverages and treats will all be available.

According to General Manager Joel Soukkala, Cloquet's County Seat Theater has been doing the best they can to slowly bring back live theater for the community.  They have been offering small outdoor youth classes as well as presenting Variety Shows in the back parking lot.

He says that the County Seat Theater is following the following safety measures:

  • All actors, volunteers and patrons will have temperature checks at the door.
  • All patrons and volunteers will be required to wear face coverings.
  • There will be distancing in the seating area and extra cleaning that will take place after every show.
  • There will be concessions for purchase, however there will be no intermission treats served.
  • Safe social distancing will be practiced.
  • Hand sanitizing stations throughout theater.

It may be a Halloween season unlike any other, but festivities are still taking with health protocols in place due to the pandemic.  The Halloween Spooktacular in Cloquet is a perfect example.
