Grandma's Restaurants announced that the two popular Canal Park eateries will close temporarily.

Last week Grandma's closed the downstairs dining area at Grandma's Saloon and Grill in Canal Park due to an employee testing positive for COVID-19, the upstairs dining and patio area remained open, until today, now the entire restaurant is closed after a second employee tested positive.

The restaurant is also asking, "all employees who have had close contact with this employee to self-quarantine at the direction of the Minnesota Department of Health.

One employee also tested positive at Little Angie's, they say that the employee hasn't worked since the 22nd and didn't have any contact with customers. But they say, "out of an abundance of caution we are also going to temporarily close that restaurant."

Management says that they will be cleaning and sanitizing their facilities "as well as allow our team to seek out professional medical guidance according to their individual needs."

Grandma's Saloon and Grill Miller Hill location will remain open. Times are very hard for bars and restaurants around the country, Grandma's says that the COVID-19 pandemic is, "the most challenging times we have faced in 44 years."

Good luck to everyone at Grandma's and I hope everyone there stays safe going forward and the sick employees get better quickly. I'll be having my favorite Monte Cristo sandwich to celebrate my birthday this week.
