If you had a desire to take advantage of Minnesota's $100 COVID-19 vaccine incentive program but weren't able to get your first shot before the end of the day on Sunday, Governor Walz has extended the program.

The incentive window, announced by Walz at the end of July, afforded Minnesotans that received their first COVID-19 vaccine between July 30 and August 15 a $100 Visa gift card. The program has been received well among many around the state, encouraging Governor Walz to extend the deadline past the original deadline on Sunday, the 15th.

In a media release from Governor Walz's office (via KARE 11), it was shared 55,456 Minnesotans have signed up for the incentive program so far. The effort has also played a role in driving Minnesota's vaccination rate among those ages 16 and older with at least one dose to 70%, reported via press release on August 12.

The ongoing effort to further increase vaccination rates in Minnesota spurred on Governor Walz to extend the $100 Visa gift card program by another week, sharing in a tweet on Sunday evening that the original August 15 deadline has been extended to Sunday, August 22.

In order to get the $100 Visa gift card, you'll need to register via the State of Minnesota's vaccine incentive website before 11:59 pm on Sunday, August 22.

Currently, anyone ages 12 and older are eligible for a COVID-19 vaccine. Everyone eligible to receive the vaccine is also eligible for the incentive program, according to the program's website.

If you are looking for a vaccination site, Minnesota has a website called the Vaccine Connector, which will show you nearby vaccination locations and allow you to set an appointment.
