I was in my hometown this weekend celebrating my birthday. We were camping at the Vermilion Trail Campground in Biwabik, Minnesota. It's become a yearly tradition for us. Each year, I drive around the small town I grew up in and see what's changed, reminisce about the old days, and tell my kids the same stories I tell every year. This time, while driving by my childhood home, I did a double-take. There's a weed dispensary right next to where I grew up.

I pulled over to check it out. It struck me as odd, like, "Who would ever have thought there would be a dispensary on the main street in Biwabik?"

There's not a lot of recreational marijuana dispensaries yet on the Iron Range. Minnesota currently has a backlog of testing for marijuana plants from growers, and that's really slowed things down and kept prices high compared to other legal states. I've spoken with several growers who say they are sitting on piles of marijuana that they can't sell until the state's testing sites get caught up.
