You may have brought the kids to experience the Richard I. Bong Veterans Historical Center in Superior, but they've never had an experience there quite like this.

On Friday, February 19, the historical center is partnering with UW-Superior for Camp Bong, allowing children grades 3 through 8 and their parent or legal guardian the experience of camping out inside the historical center for a night of fun and education.

The evening will involve discovering the items in a soldier’s footlocker, hands-on demonstrations of historic uniforms and equipment, and up-close views of a P-38 fighter plane. Campers will take part in exploration of the center, meeting with veterans, games, and a movie before lights out. The morning will begin with Reveille and breakfast before concluding at 8:30 a.m.

The cost is $30 for child and adult. All children must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.
