Finding things for the family to do in the winter can be a challenge, but there is good news from the City of Duluth Parks and Recreation Department.

They are once again offering free winter recreational activities at the Bayfront Family Center.  The Family Center is open to the public. People can bring their own skates or loan skates from City staff in the Family Center to enjoy the best of outdoor ice skating, check out snowshoes, skis or sleds at no cost.

Playfront playground is great fun in the wintertime as well with shelter available to warm up little hands and feet.

The Family Center is open Monday - Friday 4-8 pm; Saturdays 1-8 pm; Sundays 1-5 PM; Special weekday hours during School Breaks are 1-8 pm.

Throughout the season on Friday nights, anyone can come enjoy an outdoor fire, free hot chocolate and marshmallows.

The program may temporarily close if there is extreme wind or cold conditions. Can get complete details below.
