Have you ever tried any form of yoga? I have tried it at times, including goat yoga at Bayfront Festival Park after running the Garry Bjorklund Half Marathon. While I've yet to commit to it regularly, I've always enjoyed the experience and I get why so many people are committed to it.

Statistics show that with over 300 million practitioners worldwide, and over 36 million practitioners in the United States alone, yoga continues to be exceptionally popular for people of all ages.

According to experts, the yoga industry will reach $200 billion by 2025. In the U.S., there were approximately 22,460 yoga studios as of 2023.

There wouldn't be that many people into yoga if it didn't provide real benefits. According to Johns Hopkins Medicine, people who practice yoga regularly feel better throughout their entire body, regardless of their level of yoga expertise.

They list 9 health benefits that yoga provides:

  1. Yoga improves strength, balance, and flexibility.
  2. Yoga helps with back pain relief.
  3. Yoga can ease arthritis symptoms.
  4. Yoga benefits heart health.
  5. Yoga relaxes you, to help you sleep better.
  6. Yoga can mean more energy and brighter moods.
  7. Yoga helps you manage stress.
  8. Yoga connects you with a supportive community.
  9. Yoga promotes better self-care.

Whether yoga is already a consistent part of your life, or if you'd simply like to give it a try, there is a perfect opportunity beginning this weekend in Duluth.
