There's a lot of shoes hitting the pavement in full stride tomorrow at Public School Stadium, 4405 West 4th Street, Duluth  .  About 1,800 Duluth elementary school students will participate in the fifth annual Essentia Health Fit-n-Fun Run.  Starting at 9:30a, students from third, fourth and fifth grades from Duluth elementary schools will run one-quarter mile races throughout the day. For their efforts, the students will receive a Fit-n-Fun Run T-shirt and ribbon.

Then, MORE excitement on Tuesday May 22!  Then there will be an Essentia Health Fit-n-Fun Middle School Assembly featuring 2004 Olympian Carrie Tollefson.  She will visit,  motivate and encourage students at Woodland and Morgan Park Middle Schools.

Fit-n-Fun Run and the Fit-n-Fun Middle School Assemblies were developed four years ago by Grandma’s Marathon and the Young Athletes Foundation.  They they partnered with the Duluth Public Schools and SMDC – now Essentia Health.  Their goal was  to motivate children to lead healthier lifestyles.
