The deadline is approaching for removing permanent fish houses on Minnesota lakes.  For houses on lakes north of the line, the date is March 21st.  South of the line, it's March 7th.

The "line" for determining house removal runs east west from Highway 34 to Minnesota Highway 200, east along to Highway 2.

The DNR urges you to not wait until the last weekend to remove your houses, and things can happen and you may not be able to remove the house.  People unable to remove their houses will face fines.

With the milder winter we've had, it's a good idea to keep an eye on the forecast to ensure you'll be able to get out to the house.  It only takes a few days of warm weather for ice conditions to quickly deteriorate.
