Some leaves are already starting to change in Minnesota. I noticed this when I was up at Voyaguer's National Park this weekend. Most of the trees were still very green in mid-September. A warmer-than-average September and lack of frost has allowed us to enjoy a warm beginning to fall.
Soon enough, temperatures will return to normal averages. According to Farmer's Almanac, we could start seeing some peak conditions in parts of the state sooner than later.
Northern Minnesota Fall Colors
Northern Minnesota, with it's cooler climate, sees leaves change earlier in the season than the southern portions of Minnesota. The Farmer's Almanac looks at the history of regions' weather and observations to come up with the specified dates best for viewing fall colors.

In Northern Minnesota, they anticipate a roughly two-week window from October 1st through October 17th, 2024.
Southern Minnesota Fall Colors
Southern Minnesota will be just a touch later than Northern Minnesota, according to Farmer's Almanac. They anticipate the best dates to be between October 5th and October 21st.
Winter Could Be Coming Sooner Than Later
The Farmer's Almanac suggests that we could see an earlier frost date than average. The Old Farmer's Almanac (a different almanac) expects us to see snow by October 16th. I guess maybe it's a good idea to have that ice scraper ready to go in your vehicle.
There's a lot of really good places to visit and see the Fall Colors. If I had one suggestion on where to go, I'd say go to the Superior Hiking Trail. It's absolutely breathtaking.
