The beautiful weather brings Northlanders out for many reasons.  Dog walking, Grandma's Marathon training, and something you only see for a few weeks on the Canal Park Pier, Coho Salmon fishing.

This picture was taken last Sunday morning.  We talked with many of the anglers and they told us that Coho Salmon is SO tasty!  One of the best tasting fish of Lake Superior.  Have you ever eaten Coho Salmon?  Is there really a difference?

During their ocean phase, Coho have silver sides and dark blue backs. During their spawning phase, the jaws and teeth of the coho become hooked. After entering fresh water they develop bright red sides, bluish green heads and backs, dark bellies and dark spots on their backs.
