It's a project that's large in scope and big in the number of potential drivers it'll impact:  The two-year project to repair Highway 2 and 53 (locally known as East 2nd Street) in Superior gets underway on Monday, April 6.  The Wisconsin Department of Transportation has worked hard at getting the word out about their plans with a variety of methods.

While the multi-year project will see a number of different phases, the initial impact for drivers will be a reduction down to one lane in each direction between 31st Avenue East and 2nd Avenue East as of April 6.  Work on the intersection at Belknap Street will start a little later - on April 17.

When the total two-year project is complete, WISDOT will have spend $10 to $15-million on the repair work; once done, the work will have been performed between 2nd Avenue East to 53rd Avenue East.
