The West Theatre opened on Christmas Day in 1937. According to the website, it was the dream of J.B. Clinton and Clarence Kaake and brought to life by architect Perry E. Crosier of Minneapolis. It was a little Art Deco and originally seated 595 people.

According to the West Website, it stayed open until the 1950s, then became different things and businesses, and eventually, it was left vacant for over a decade. Robert Boone bought the building for $140,500 on Oct. 5, 2016; with the assistance of Park State Bank and the Northeast Entrepreneur Fund. That's when the renovations began, they were finished in 2019.

Tonight's act, Chris Kroeze was runner-up on "The Voice" in 2018. Kroeze has a unique style of music and will be performing all types of genres. According to their website, the West is bringing other shows to the area including Hot Club of Cowtown, David Bromberg Quartet, Terrance Simien and the Zydeco Experience, Monroe Crossing, Chris Hawkey, and Walter Trout.

Chris got on his social media to tell everyone how excited he was to play at the West Theatre. Chris still lives in Wisconsin and says he is a homer and loves living there.

It should be a good show. Chris has played here a couple of times, one of those times was at the Big Top for Grandma's Marathon and put on a good show there. That show was almost right after his appearance on TV. I got to meet him and he was a real person and down to earth and was very nice.
