Duluthian Jordan Schmidt Scores A Number One Hit With Jason Aldean’s Lights Come On
Jordan Schmidt has done well since leaving the Northland. He learned it from his family. Tammy Jannetta Schmidt and Mark Schmidt are in the band MYNX, and his brother Dane is VP of Creative at Tree Vibez Music, a music publishing company founded by Brian Kelley and Tyler Hubbard of Florida Georgia Line.
Jordan began playing guitar at the age of 10, by 16, he was recording local musicians. He moved to Maryland, then to Minneapolis, and then finally settled in Nashville, TN. According to his Wikipedia page, Schmidt has also co-written many songs licensed to popular TV shows, such as NCIS: New Orleans, Hart of Dixie, Catfish, Jersey Shore, The Biggest Loser, Keeping Up With The Kardashians, The Real World, Dr. Phil, Snooki & JWoww, Battle Creek, and a MasterCard commercial.
He has another song on the charts by Granger Smith called "If The Boot Fits"
In 2012, Schmidt moved to Nashville, Tennessee, where he and his brother Dane Schmidt founded WeVolve Music. Then he signed with Tree Vibez Music in 2015.
This past week he celebrated co-writing a number one hit with Jason Aldean, "Lights Come On". His Mom checked in and shared a couple of shots from the party.
