The weather is the story today across the Northland with power outages and road closings.  The Duluth Police Department ventured to Canal Park to witness Lake Superior.

Duluth Police Chief Mike Tusken posted the video below on his Facebook page of what is a very active and angry looking Lake Superior, while writing:

Gail winds of a Nor’easter off of Lake Superior are creating multiple hazards throughout Duluth with downed trees and power lines leading power outages.

Power outages are leading to semaphore outages which make vehicle travel potentially dangerous. Be cautious if you arrive at an intersection where the traffic lights are out.

Additionally, some flooding in the Canal Park area, please avoid this area.

Be safe out there and find shelter and a warm blanket.

Until this weather calms down, it's best to stay off roads and stay inside.
