Every Summer Chester Creek offers family-friendly music on the stage and entertainment for people to dance to and maybe discover a new band or artist from the area.

It's all about local music and it's a fun time in one of Duluth's beautiful parks. Sitting in the green grass. There are food trucks and beverages available, kids can use the slide, swings, merry-go-round, or just dig in the sand.

The artists were announced for the 39th annual Chester Creek Concert Series! The fun ten-week series features a wide variety of live music in the park. Each performance is 90 minutes and begins at 7:00 pm (6:30 pm in August).

One thing that Duluth Parks and Recreation does well is choosing artists and bands that represent all types of music and ages. They also have a good mix of familiar names, new acts, and tried and true artists.

Here are the performing acts according to the press release:

  • June 14                 Born Too Late
  • June 21                 Bill Bergeson Band
  • June 28                 Preston Gunderson
  • July 5                    Boss Mama and the Jebberhooch
  • July 12                  Laura Velvet
  • July 19                  Jojo Green
  • July 26                  Windjammers
  • Aug. 2                   B-Listers
  • Aug. 9                   Jaggedease
  • Aug. 16                 Boxcar
  • Aug. 23                 Rain Date (if needed)

A little advice for you is to get there early and get a parking spot, bring something to sit on, whether it's a chair or a blanket you will want to have something. Bring money, the food from the food trucks is fabulous and you will want some, and something to drink.

Weather sometimes can become a factor, so there is a rain date on the calendar.  If the weather is so bad that it has to be canceled, then you can check the social media pages and website after 3:00 pm @DuluthParksMN, the website, or by calling their weather hotline, 218-730-4321.
