Blake Shelton released a new single recently and it has some roots to the Northland!

The tune is called God's Country and it was written by a Duluth native! Jordan Schmidt is a Duluthian turned Nashville songwriter who has written some of the biggest hits of the last few years. He wrote the new tune along with country star Devin Dawson and up-and-coming artist HARDY.

The song is an eerie ode to all the sacred things one loves about the south - or as they call it, God's country. It's the first cut off of Blake's next album.

Listen to it below:

I think this song will be a big old hit! It is definitely a different turn from what Blake has been releasing lately and it's so unique that is is almost undeniable.

This isn't Jordan Schmidt's first rodeo in the country music world. As I mentioned, he has written a ton of hits over the past few years, including some of the biggest tunes to hit the airwaves.

Jordan is responsible for Kane Brown and Lauren Alaina's massive duet What Ifs, which went on to become the third most-consumed country song in 2017. It also nabbed a ton of award nominations and sold millions of copies.

His has written several other hits as well for artists like Florida Georgia Line, Jason Aldean and Old Dominion.

I am pretty confident this will be another monster hit for him, too.
