A Free Two-Day Dental Clinic Coming Soon In Duluth
In 2000, the first Mission of Mercy was launched with the Minnesota Dental Foundation. That historic event took place in Virginia and now Mission Of Mercy events are held nationwide.
Not only are its events taking place, but they are truly making a difference to those who desperately need them. Mission Of Mercy events have helped over 275,000 patients while providing $190 million in free dental services.
Of course, an event wouldn't be possible without the help of hundreds of dental and non-dental volunteers who work together and help provide dental treatment for those who cannot obtain it on their own for various reasons.
Minnesota Mission Of Mercy (MnMOM)
The Minnesota Mission of Mercy dental program is very active thanks to major financial and in-kind support. The Delta Dental of Minnesota Foundation is the signature sponsor. Their events are a lifeline for individuals who lack dental insurance or have faced barriers to accessing dental care.
MnMOM has provided 50,850 dental procedures worth $6.8 million in donated dental services and treatment through 10,400 patient visits since 2012.
Two-Day Minnesota Mission Of Mercy Event In Duluth
The Duluth Entertainment and Convention Center (DECC) recently announced another MnMOM event would be held just before summer.
The two-day event will occur on Friday, June 7, and Saturday, June 8 inside the DECC. On each day, dental professionals, volunteers, and community partners will come together to provide services, including cleanings, fillings, root canals on select teeth, extractions, children’s dentistry, oral hygiene instruction, and a limited amount of temporary partial dental appliances.
Doors will open at 5:30 am each day and there is no advance sign-up, with patients being seen on a first-come, first-served basis. Early arrival is highly recommended because patients will only be accepted until capacity is reached on each day.
