Duluth International Airport Hosting TSA Precheck Enrollment Event
Anyone who has ever traveled by air knows that it can be process that involves a lot of waiting around, with getting through airport security often providing the longest wait of all.
However, enrolling in the TSA Precheck program is a way drastically cut down on the amount of time you wait. In July 2022, 95% of TSA PreCheck passengers waited less than 5 minutes, according to the Transportation Security Administration.
Getting enrolled also provides other conveniences to the travel experience. For example, you'll no longer need to no need to remove shoes, belts, 3-1-1 liquids, laptops, or light jackets as part of the screening process.
Today, TSA PreCheck has more than 450 lanes at over 200 U.S. airports. Likely knowing that enrolled passengers are generally happier passengers, the Duluth International Airport will be hosting TSA Precheck Pop-Up Event to get more people enrolled.
The enrollment event will be held from Monday, September 19 through Friday, September 23, with appointments being scheduled each day from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and then again from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Those interested must first access the online application page to get started. To begin, you'll want to click "Start Application Now", then click “New Enrollment”. Fill out the application and for location be sure to search, the choose location “Pop Up: DLH, 9/19-9/23” and click then “Next”.
You will then be asked to select your appointment time. The Duluth International Airport reminds everyone to keep track of that appointment time as no reminders are sent out.
Also very important to note is that to complete the application process, you will need to bring proof of identity and U.S. citizen documentation (such as a U.S. Passport or a birth certificate and a driver’s license) to the enrollment event. If you have a valid U.S. passport, that is all you need for ID.
The application process is completed on site where they capture fingerprints for a background check and collect the $85 application for five years of service. The fee can be paid by credit card, money order, company check, or certified/cashier’s check. Cash and personal checks are not accepted.
The TSA says the program is family-friendly and children 12 and under can join a parent/guardian with TSA PreCheck in the dedicated lanes.
