Duluth Fire Department Hosting Fourth Car Seat Safety Clinic Thursday
If you're a new parent or guardian, or someone with a child about to need to transition into a larger car seat, there is a great resource available throughout the year to assure kids across the Northland have the proper seat and that they are safe and secure in their car seats.
The Duluth Fire Department, in conjunction with St. Luke’s Health Care System, host free car seat safety clinics throughout the year and the fourth one of 2022 is coming up this week.
According to the City of Duluth:
Child Safety Seat Clinics are for parents and caregivers to have their child safety seat inspected by a certified child passenger technician. The child passenger safety technician will inspect and assist parents and caregivers in installing their child safety seat.
Due to the new normal guidelines and capacity limits, to participate in these free educational Car Seat Clinics, you must sign up for a designated time slot. Also, masks are required regardless of vaccination status.
This fourth car seat clinic will take place this Thursday, July 21 from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Duluth Fire Station #4, which is located at 425 W. College Street in Duluth.
The link above will lead you to a City of Duluth event calendar and you can register there for the Thursday, July 21 event. Just click the green 'Sign Up' button. Sign up is one child/seat per time slot.
As of now, drop-in car seat installations are not being offered through the Duluth Fire Department.
