‘Deadliest Catch’ Star Johnathan Hillstrand Stops By The Studio

It's not everyday you get a television star in the studio but Friday, that's exactly what happened!

Captain Johnathan Hillstrand stopped by the studio to chat with Ken and I ahead of his appearance at the Duluth Boat, Sports, Travel & RV Show over the weekend.

Hillstrand became a household name after starring on Deadliest Catch. The show became a massive hit on the Discovery Channel. He starred on it for over a decade before eventually retiring.

(Fun fact: he didn't want to be on the show at first. They asked him and he said no and as fate would have it, he ended up on it anyway. Ha!)

Now, he enjoys retirement, spending time with his family and even penning a few children's books.

You can meet him Friday (February 15th) and Saturday (the 16th) at the show. He will be signing autographs, copies of his books and taking pictures with fans.
