That's why it's helpful and reduces stress when we know when those places will be unexpectedly closed. That is happening soon with one of the most popular retail chains in the country, and while the closure is understandable, it may arrive earlier than you'd expect.

An Important Day Is Fast Approaching

Memorial Day is observed in America on the last Monday of May. It's an extremely important holiday because it's when we honor and remember the men and women who died while serving in the U.S. military. It's a day of remembrance, often marked by visiting cemeteries, placing flags on graves, and holding ceremonies.

It's also a day when people throughout Minnesota get together for cookouts and other gatherings, as it's also widely considered the unofficial start of summer.

The earliest possible date for Memorial Day is May 25, and this year's date for the holiday is a close second. If you're planning any type of gathering for Memorial Day, then make sure you're stocked up with everything you need ahead of time because a huge source for groceries and more announced it will be closed on May 26, while also letting customers know all the other days they will be closed in 2025.

Costco Announces 2025 Store Closures

Costco is one of the most popular retailers in the U.S. As of May 2025, there are 624 Costco stores in the United States, including Puerto Rico.

There are 14 Costco stores in Minnesota, and the following locations will be closed on Memorial Day:

This will allow Costco employees to honor Memorial Day and spend time with their loved ones.
