Cops Say The Latest Social Media Challenge is the Dumbest One Yet
First the Tide Pod Challenge, now this! What is wrong with people?? Apparently, teens are taking part in what is called the "48-Hours Missing Challenge," and it's exactly what you think it is. Awful!
The teen will "disappear" for two days after being "dared to" in hopes that their name and picture will be posted on social media - Parents, friends, cops, etc. asking for help locating the "missing" kid. Yes, the cops are getting involved, obviously. So instead of being out there solving legit important crimes, they are searching for the girl that cried wolf.
"Child psychologists say it’s a good idea to talk to your teens and not assume they know not to participate in social media challenges. At least one police department has said that if a kid is caught participating in the challenge, they could potentially be charged." - CBS.
