Greg is trying again this year to win the grand prize. We'll get to that more later.

Greg has been working as a firefighter for a few years now for the Cloquet Fire Department. I asked him about the firefighter culture with mustaches. The reason firefighters don't have full beards is because the beard gets in the way of the respirator or fireman's mask. Mustaches don't, but just think because you get a job as a firefighter you can grow one. People know him in Cloquet as the mustache firefighter.

According to Greg, after you probationary period ends you're allowed to grow a mustache. Most firefighters grow a mustache for Movember - (No Shave November). Movember is a campaign to raise awareness of men's health issues.

At first, Greg was a little shy about his mustache at work. But, fellow firefighters told him he should keep it going. His wife didn't like it at first either, but now she won't allow him to shave it. Now, Greg waxes his mustache with an even stronger hold when he's on duty. He says it will keep its curl even when he rolls out of bed to go on a call.

The next step for Greg is to make the top 10 in the competition. Then, the voting begins and we'll share more updates. Good luck Greg!
