Have you heard?  2020 is a big election year.  On the national level, the Presidential election is demanding most of the attention, but there are a variety of local elections that are as (if not more) important.

In Superior, voters will head to the polls a total of five times - if they choose to participate in all of the primary and general elections.  2020 is one of those years in which a variety of local races are determined in the spring.  Meanwhile - in May - a special election will be held to fill the vacant Congressional Dist 7 seat.  And of course the general election will occur in the fall.

Voting officials expect that there will be a higher-than-usual number of people participating in these elections.  Due to that fact, they are encouraging people who may need to register to do so ahead of time.  While there is the option of registering at the polls, with the high volume of expected participants, they have reason to believe that the lines will be especially long.

Wisconsin voters can register in advance  and request absentee ballots by clicking here.

Here are the dates of the five elections coming up in 2020 in Superior:

  • February 18, 2020 Spring Primary
  • April 7, 2020 Spring Election
  • May 12, 2020 Special Election (Congressional District 7)
  • August 11, 2020 Fall Primary
