Charlie Worsham Announces New Album, ‘Beginning of Things’
Charlie Worsham has announced the release of his sophomore album, Beginning of Things; the record is scheduled to drop on April 21.
Of Beginning of Things' 13 songs, Worsham served as a co-writer on nine. Aside from its title track, the disc's other songs include "Southern By the Grace of God," "Cut Your Groove," "Take Me Drunk" and "Birthday Suit."
"I had fallen out of love with music, and making this record put me back in love with it on a level I hadn’t felt since I was a teenager," Worsham admits in a press release. "Beginning of Things was a challenge in surrendering control and trusting my own talent. I’m confident that these songs and these recordings capture my musical geography and personal truth, and at the end of the day, I'm convinced that is the ultimate purpose of an artist — to speak one’s truth.”
Worsham's forthcoming album was co-produced by Frank Liddell and Eric Masse; Arturo Buenahora Jr. served as its executive producer.
Worsham released his freshman album, Rubberband, in 2013. Fans can check out Beginning of Things' title track now through NPR Music, and pre-order the record via iTunes.
