I have attended my share of concerts in my 18 years in the broadcast industry.  Garth Brooks will go down in MY history as my favorite.  I was in awe of this man that could connect with every single person in the 20,500 seat venue and make it feel like you and he were ole' friends hanging out.

When I purchased our tickets I was bummed it was the late show at the Target Center at 10:30p. We had been warned that it was hard to get people out from the first show so his show was going to be pushed back to 11:15.  After standing in line, getting a beer an buying a t-shirt and bracelet, I have no idea what time it was when he started, I'm thinking  around 11:30.  I began thinking how cool it was to be at his 11th show, his last at the Target Center.  He said he planned to give it "all he had left" and he wasn't kidding, he did and then some.

Garth is so personable that he can wear a pair of baggie jeans and a button up the front shirt during his concert.  No Luke Bryan tight pants or bling.  I watched as he connected on a personal level with everyone in the venue just by his words and lyrics of his songs.  He was honest, candid and real. Everyone sang every word with him and knew every song.

My seats were side view and I have included a short clip of what we saw that night.  I am confident in saying that every person that attended one of his 11 concerts in Mpls left with a personal memory.

I failed Garth back in 1998 and promised to make it up to him if I was lucky enough to make it to his show this year.  I DID!  I didn't fail him THIS time!
