Don't get rid of your old cassettes just yet, you might be cooler than you think. The sales started to go up in 2019, according to endonline 2020 is the year of the cassette.

The quality of sound is not what is fueling the sales of cassette tapes, it's all nostalgia. I think because of what has happened with COVID-19 and made everything wacky, it seems to be just what would define this year. Most cars have CD players or iPod hookups or Bluetooth. Back in the day, I had a CD player in my room and a cassette player in my car, so I had to have one for the car and one for the house.

What would teenage love be without making mixtapes for the person you had a crush on or were going with. You put all songs that reminded you of them and maybe songs that meant a lot to the two of you.

If you want to buy cassettes and weren't around when cassettes were king, you need a number 2 pencil. Why? If it gets caught up in the mechanism of the cassette player you have to pull out the cassette and the tape and use the pencil to roll it all back up into the tape so you can keep playing it.

I know you are thinking that the top cassette sellers are Fleetwood Mac, Wham!, Van Halen, Prince, the Eagles, you know some of the artists that were big in the day. They are not, they are artists of today. According to altpress.com they are 5 Seconds Of Summer, Lady Gaga, the 1975, Selena Gomez and Dua Lipa that are at the top of the list. So, it's not, so-called, older people buying the tapes.

Get out your Bon Jovi, Whitesnake, and  Def Leppard tapes and put 'em in your boom box, and let's jam!!!
