This morning after the show, I decided it would be good for me to get my last minute Christmas shopping done before the weather hit. I drove up over the hill to fleet farm and it we were already experiencing freezing drizzle.

When I arrived in the parking lot it was pretty full at 10:30 am on a Wednesday. Apparently I'm not the only one who waits to the last minute to get gifts. There were long lines in the checkouts, all of us doing our best to socially distant. I walked back outside and it was full on snowing, and at a pretty good pace.

Knowing that the snow was in fact going to hit us, I figured I should get my last minute grocery items. I first went to the one in East Superior and I am not joking when I tell you that the parking lot was full. I had to drive all the way to almost the rear to get a spot.

The store was packed with people who had full shopping carts. A blizzard right before Christmas has brought out just about everyone. Fortunately most people were wearing a mask, but I couldn't help but think this is the most crowded place I've been since the pandemic began.

Then I dipped into the liquor store. Normally this is a busy time of year, (especially in Wisconsin), but just about everyone in there had a full shopping cart full of booze. They had staff on walkie talkies running that place like a military operation. Wisconsin Operation Warp speed, but instead of vaccines we're distributing Leinenkugel's and Miller Lite.

Hopefully you can hunker down for the storm and stay safe this Christmas Weekend.
