Blake Shelton, Gwen Stefani Hang Backstage at 2017 PCAs [PICTURES]
Blake Shelton and girlfriend Gwen Stefani hung out backstage at the 2017 People's Choice Awards on Wednesday night (Jan. 18). The country star went with his usual dressed-up-but-casual look -- jeans and a suitcoat -- but added a pop of color with a teal dress shirt; his look complemented Stefani's ruffly blue ensemble.
Shelton was nominated for Favorite Male Country Artist and in the all-genre Favorite Male Artist and Favorite Album categories at the 43rd annual People's Choice Awards. Just before he took the stage to perform his forthcoming single, "Every Time I Hear That Song," he was announced as the winner of both Favorite Male Country Artist and Favorite Album -- the first time a country artist has ever won that all-genre category.
Shelton received both awards at once, following his performance. During his speech, he thanked “the hottest date here tonight, Gwen Stefani, who’s sitting out there.” The singer also addressed those watching who might be wondering how he won.
“‘I mean, how did he win Album of the Year? Isn’t that just a country album full of stereotypical country songs?'” Shelton imagined a viewer asking. “And to that person, I say, ‘You damn right it is!'”
Shelton spent 2016 serving as a judge on NBC's The Voice and on the road promoting his 10th studio album.
