Every year, National Tequila Day, also known as International Tequila Day, is celebrated on July 24th. As a tequila lover, it's a day I celebrate, although the truth is, there are a lot of tequila days for me every year.

National Tequila Day is not a federally recognized holiday, but it is a day for tequila lovers to appreciate the history of this spirit, which is made from the blue agave plant.

While I love sipping a nice Añejo, which is aged for one to three years in oak barrels, resulting in a richer, darker color and more intense flavors of vanilla, caramel, and spice, I also love to make margaritas.

For me, simplicity is key when it comes to making a margarita, so I often make them from scratch with just a few ingredients. However, it can be more convenient to use a mix, so you then just need to add your favorite tequila.

However, not all margarita mixes are created equal, but there are many great mixes available throughout Minnesota. Here are 4 that I enjoy that should be easy for you to find.

4 Amazing Margarita Mixes That You Must Try

Whatever the occasion, tequila and margaritas are never a bad idea! I know that margaritas aren’t that hard to make from scratch, and I enjoy doing that, but sometimes it's just cleaner and easier to buy the mixes and just add your favorite tequila.

However, there are countless mixes available, but not all are created equal. Tequila is my favorite spirit, and after years of enjoying it in margaritas, here are 4 of my favorites that I think you’ll also enjoy.

All of these work with just about any tequila and are available at most liquor stores and online. If you are pouring tequila into a mix, you don’t have to buy a $50 bottle of Don Julio, but you should still get something you like. I stay away from basic Jose Cuervo at all costs, but that’s just me.
