Taylor Swift, ‘We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together’ – Song Review
Men and women will be divided on ‘We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together,’ Taylor Swift‘s new single. On one (woman’s) hand, it’s an empowering breakup song that slams the door on every no-good loser who’s come crawling back with apologies and “I love yous” (and maybe flowers or a sack of White Castle hamburgers) at all hours of the night. From the male perspective: “Get over it.”
Eli Young Band vs. Chelsea Bain – The Showdown
Eli Young Band may not be far removed from their search for country stardom, but their fans took no pity on newcomer Jon Pardi. The Texas group’s new song ‘Say Goodnight’ topped ‘Missin” You Crazy’ to earn another spin on Taste of Country Nights radio and more votes from fans on Taste of Country.
Eli Young Band, ‘Say Goodnight’ – Song Review
Eli Young Band have notched back-to-back No. 1 hits, although it’s not clear how they’re doing it. Nothing about the band is conventional country music. Their new single ‘Say Goodnight’ is similarly moody and understated — almost emo-country, if such a genre exists. That could be the secret to their magic.
Brantley Gilbert Fans Named Most Passionate in Country Music
After seven days of voting, Brantley Gilbert‘s fans proved what the singer already knew: His supporters are the most passionate in all of country music. The BG Nation took over 35 percent of reader votes in a week-long readers poll, easily topping second and third place finishers Taylor Swift‘s Swifties and Scotty McCreery‘s McCreerians.

Should Jake Owen Cut His Hair? – Readers Poll
Jake Owen toyed with his followers on Twitter recently, pretending to have cut off his extra shaggy famous locks. Later, many let out a sigh of relief when he revealed: “Ha…… Got y’all. I didn’t cut it. Then there’d be nothing to pull. Well… Maybe my ears.” Some liked the ‘new look,’ however, leading to today’s poll question — should Jake Owen really cut his hair?
Colt Ford, ‘Declaration of Independence’ – Album Review
On previous albums, Colt Ford backed himself into a tight corner, insisting he’s not rap while spitting rap-like messages of country life, love and fun. The singer admits that by aiming to please everyone, he left most feeling a few bites short of a full meal. This isn’t a problem on ‘Declaration of Independence.’
Randy Travis Arrested for DWI
Randy Travis is still in custody this morning after being arrested Tuesday night on suspicion of DWI following a car accident in Texas. TMZ reports that the country singer suffered minor cuts and bruises after crashing his car. His vehicle was the only one involved in the accident.
Dierks Bentley, ‘Tip It On Back’ – Song Review
Dierks Bentley has done something interesting with his new single ‘Tip It on Back’ from the ‘Home’ album. The singer marries the spirit of songs like ‘Free and Easy’ — and more recently, ‘Am I the Only One’ — with the sexy pace of his most famous ballads (think ‘Come a Little Closer’ and ‘Feel That Fire’).
The Lost Trailers, ‘American Beauty’ – Song Review
The new single from the Lost Trailers continues down a singer-songwriter path the now-duo began to cut with ‘Underdog’ in 2011. While once a party band, their new sound is more Jason Mraz than Jason Aldean. The change fits.
The Lost Trailers vs. Kelleigh Bannen – The Showdown
Lauren Alaina becomes the first artist with two songs in the Taste of Country Showdown Hall of Fame after her new single ‘Eighteen Inches’ topped Toby Keith’s ‘I Like Girls That Drink Beer’ on Tuesday. Her fans once again proved they’re amongst the most passionate in country music. Today, and tonight, on Taste of Country Nights, two new challengers will battle.
