In 2010, Christopher and Dana Reeve (Superman and wife) set a World Record for most people in a moving wheelchair line.  Myrna Peterson and Lee Isaacs are both disability activists and confined to wheelchairs. They are working to get at least 194 people in wheelchairs or scooters to come to Grand Rapids on May 16 to set a new record.

According to a press release Myrna says, “We are starting to get nervous we will not find the number of people we need to set this new world record,” she goes on to say “We are asking for help from the public to spread the word and extend an invitation on our behalf to anyone in a wheelchair or scooter that can get to Grand Rapids on May 16th. It is just over an hour from Duluth, and only three hours from the Cities so we hope we can get word to those who would like to join us for this huge family-fun event called MyrnaLee Mania. The day includes the Guinness attempt, a wheelchair basketball game, food, festivities, and all things accessible. All people of all abilities are welcome!”

The event will not only serve as a world record attempt, but Myrna Peterson hopes to educate the public about people in wheelchairs. For more info go to their website, or join them on Facebook.
