A continuation of an earlier project will close one of the ramps associated with the Bong Bridge for two more days.  Officials with the Minnesota Department of Transportation are alerting drivers to a temporary daytime closure for the southbound I-35 to eastbound Highway 2 ramp closure on Monday and Tuesday, October 7 and October 8.  As stated, the closure will only occur during the daytime hours - between 8:00 AM and 3:00 PM each day.

According to information released by the Minnesota Department of Transportation, the closure is necessary in order to allow work crews the chance to perform preventative maintenance on the ramp.

There will be signed detours in place to help drivers navigate their way to their destination - around the closed ramp.  At the same time, MNDOT urges drivers to exercise caution, slow down, and be observant.  (That advice pertains to any road construction project zone)

Officials don't anticipate the work lasting longer than the released timeline, but any road construction work  is dependent on the weather and any unforeseen situations.
