Aaron Rodgers Will be a Guest-Host on ‘Jeopardy!’

Green Bay Packers QB Aaron Rodgers may have his next career lined up after he decides to retire from football.

Rodgers was a guest on the Pat McAfee Show where he said that he was given a chance to host the local running game show and that we'll be able to see it "pretty soon."

The future Hall of Fame quarterback says in the segment that the late Alex Trebek was one of his idols growing up, so it was a particular honor to play the role as host. Trebek died in November of last year after a battle with cancer.

Rodgers once competed in an episode of 'Celebrity Jeopardy!' where we won $50,000 for charity after beating Arizona Sen. and former NASA Astronaut Mark Kelly and 'Shark Tanks' Mr. Wonderful Kevin O'Leary.

'Jeopardy!' Champion Ken Jennings just started a run as guest host yesterday, he honored Trebek by saying in the show's open, "Let’s be totally clear. No one will ever replace the great Alex Trebek, but we can honor him by playing the game he loved.”

'Jeopardy!' has been on the air for 37 seasons and Trebek hosted all of them from 1984 until his death in 2020. Along with Jennings and Rodgers, journalist and TV host Katie Couric will guest-host at some point in the near future as they work to find the next permanent host.

Replacing Trebek will be hard to do, but it isn't impossible. Many, including myself, didn't think the 'Price is Right' would continue after Bob Barker retired, but Drew Carey has done an amazing job with the show and managed to pull off the transition with ease.
