With all a busy schedule of celebrations in place for the 4th of July holiday in Superior, city officials are working to get the word out ahead of time about some street closures; the closed-off streets are necessary in order to accommodate the festivities.

This year the parade is moving back to its old / original route that takes it down Belknap Street.  In advance of the 11:00 AM parade, Belknap Street - between Mortorelli Drive and Ogden Avenue will close to through traffic by 10:00 AM.

Later in the day, the city has festivities planned for Tower Avenue; on the schedule is a car show and live music and entertainment.  In order to accomodate that, Tower Avenue will be closed between Belknap and Broadway just after the parade is finished until 6:00 PM.

As always, law enforcement officials urge drivers to utilize caution and common sense.  Drivers are also asked to watch for signage which will alert them to the posted detours.
