There are things certain things that instantly bring back memories of our past. Music is a perfect example. How often have you heard a favorite song from your past and found yourself instantly transported back to the time it came out and the people you were with?

Another thing that brings back memories, at least for me, is food. While most Minnesota kids eat similar things, like pizza and chicken nuggets, there is one kind of food that stands out by having the ability to bring back specific memories and that's breakfast cereal.

I think that's because, over the years, breakfast cereal has always had colorful packaging, mostly geared towards kids. Many cereals were also created to take advantage of a popular movie, television show, or pop culture phenomenon from the time, so it makes sense that seeing breakfast cereals from our past can be amazingly nostalgic.

Kellogg's, the largest cereal company in the United States, has always done its best to create new cereals and while some continue to be available, many others have been discontinued.
