If you love to explore Duluth's beautiful Chester Park, you need to be aware that a portion of the trail is temporarily closed.

The City of Duluth Parks and Recreation was forced to close a portion of the trail due to the recent heavy rainfall.  This impacts a segment of the hiking trail in Chester Park located on the east side of the creek, between Skyline Parkway and the 8th Street bridge, which was washed out.

There are trail closure signs in place leading up to and around the impacted area along with orange fencing.   It is not yet known how long repairs will take, but everyone should plan on using the trail on the west side of Chester Creek until further notice.
