Expect road closures and delays Friday evening as runners take on the Minnesota Mile.

Here's what you need to know:

  • Traffic will not be allowed on West Skyline Parkway around Enger Tower beginning at 5:15 in the evening. (The races start at 6 p.m.)
  • No traffic will be allowed in or out of Enger Tower or the Enger Tower parking lot from 5:15 until about 7:30 p.m.

There will be warning signs posted at 10th Avenue West and Skyline Parkway. These signs will alert drivers that those driving westbound will not be allowed past the Twin Ponds.

More warning signs will be posted at 24th Avenue West and Skyline Parkway, which will tell drivers heading eastbound that they will not be allowed past the Enger Golf Course Lot. (You can still tee off however, as Enger Golf Course will remain open and accessible from 24th Avenue West.)

Everything should return to normal by about 7:30 Friday evening.

The traffic advisory comes courtesy of the Duluth Police Department, who posted the warnings on their Facebook page Thursday morning.

There will also be road closures in the area Saturday as the Duluth Drag Races take place. You can read more about how traffic will be impacted here.
