At the start of every new month, I like to look at the Old Farmer's Almanac to see what they are predicting weather-wise. Of course, you must take what they say with a grain of salt but it is still fun to glance at before a new month begins.

The new month ahead is no different. August is basically the last month we have before things take a drastic turn (although my finger are crossed that this isn't true this year. Ha!)

So what is the Almanac saying? Here's a breakdown:

The first three days of August will bring us a rainy start and cool temperatures.

From August 4th through the 13th, expect isolated thunderstorms and rising temperatures.

Thunderstorms will continue with temperatures cooling off quite a bit beginning on August 14th to the 18th.

Beginning the 19th through the 22nd, expect very summer-like conditions with sunshine returning along with hot temperatures.

Thunderstorms followed by sunny but cool conditions will round out the end of the month, from August 23rd to the 31st.

The good news is that the month should see an average temperature of about 70 degrees, which is 4 degrees above average for this time of year.

We will also see about an inch more rain than we are used to in August.
