This weekend is Take a Kid Fishing Weekend in Minnesota, the perfect opportunity to spend time with the awesome kids in your life.

The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources has announced that the special weekend runs Friday, June 8 to Sunday, June 10.  During that time, Minnesotans can fish without licenses if they take children 15 or younger fishing.

Minnesotans 15 and younger don’t need fishing licenses any time of the year. Take a Kid Fishing Weekend is a way for adults and kids to fish together without the step of buying a license.

If you fish in a Minnesota state park, there will even be fishing gear available to borrow on a first come, first serve basis through the DNR's I Can Fish! program.  This is available throughout the summer, not just this weekend.

Also, the DNR reminds Minnesota residents that anyone can generally fish in state parks without a fishing license if the body of water does not require a trout stamp.

Good luck out there this weekend and make sure to send us pictures of your catch through the B105 mobile app.
