It's called Give Kids A Smile and is an annual event in February to ensure children are provided with proper dental care and knowledge to keep their teeth healthy.

The other day I got a phone call from a number that I vaguely recognized.  "I know that number from somewhere..."  so I decided to answer it.  It was my dentist's office reminding me that I was due for a teeth cleaning and they had an opening that very afternoon.   Son of a b--

The Minnesota Dental Association is once again presenting its Give Kids A Smile program, which will provide free dental care to kids in need on February 1st and February 2nd.

There are some obvious pitfalls for those children with bad teeth, including self-esteem issues, poor quality of life, and uncontrollable pain. However, a new study suggests that kids walking around with busted-out, rotten grills may actually suffer more academically.

Well as you can see, my wisdom tooth came out.  I've had it in my mouth for probably about 2 years.  I finally had enough of biting my cheek and went in. First there was the consult, where I decided it would be a lot cheaper not to "go under" with anesthetics...

On Monday I blogged about my upcoming dental appointment and the anxiety I was feeling.  (You can read that blog here.)  To make a long story short, it had been 8 years since I had been to the dentist.  At 1:30 today I had my appointment... (cue horror music)

It's been a while since I've been to the dentist.  I'm ashamed to admit that it's been something like 8 years.  I have my excuses, but that doesn't really matter now that I need to go see one.  After college, I didn't have dental insurance for 5 years...
