Subaru has issued a large recall for it's vehicles after two separate problems could cause engines to stall.  The first problem is related to a software issue, and the other is a more traditional mechanical failure.

First, 2018 Outback and Legacy cars are being recalled because of a software issue that prevents the low fuel light from warning drivers. In some situations, the lack of warning has caused some drivers who pay no attention at all to how much fuel they have to run out of gas.

Secondly, there are certain models of older 2012-2014 Imprezas that have engine valve springs that can break, causing engine problems. This also applies to the 2013 BRZ, Toyota Scion FR-S, and the XV Crosstrek.
