How do you answer such a question.  "What are you thankful for?"  There are 'expected' answers and I'm sure some of mine will be like yours.  Then, there are a few that will leave you scratching your noodle.  Nonetheless, we all have much to be thankful for, after reading mine please share a few of yours!

    My Health

I've heard people say "be grateful if you have your health" and I didn't understand until I had to be in a walking boot for three ankle surgeries and then had a fractured heel.  Last month I was in the hospital for four days and while laying there feeling like the world was passing me by, I realized the truth behind the statement of being thankful for good health.  You may have everything in the world you've ever dreamed for but if you aren't feeling well, you can't enjoy it.  So, my number one thing to be thankful for is good health so I can appreciate the second thing I'm most grateful for.

    My Family & Friends

Again, this is one that most people mention when asked about what they are thankful for.  For most, our family defines us.  They have our back when things are tough, they are the first to congratulate when we succeed, we confide in them and make are either making memories or laughing together about past ones.  We have the perfect love/hate relationship knowing that no matter what we are loved.  I have an amazingly strong, beautiful daughter that I am in awe of as I watch her finish her college career and once again move into another chapter of her life.  My husband, Homie is the definition of "unconditional love".  He allows me to be who I am without question and actually gets my jokes!  Then, there's our dog Bauer the Schnauzer.  He's crazy active, watches TV like a couch potato and is the best snuggler ever!

    My Job (No, I'm Serious!)

As long as I can remember, I've loved to entertain, to make people laugh.  I've always wanted to be an actress and I guess I sorta do that behind the microphone. I'm coming up on my 19th year of working in the broadcast industry and am grateful that you still allow me into your homes, into your barns to milk cows in the morning or ride with you and your family to daycare and school every morning.

Even though Ken Hayes and I are like an old married couple on B105,  he's one of my best friends.  I consider myself lucky to work with such a quick witted, talented individual (no, I'm not drunk).  I get up at 3am to get everything done before the show starts and at first that was really tough, my bod is use to it now.  Of course the perks are amazing as a jock, being able to go backstage and meet the artists never gets old.  But, one of the most endearing thing about my job is that I don't have to pick one cause to devote my time and energy to, I'm able to promote several non-profit organizations whether it's talking about their events on air, emcee their event or sharing the information on our Community Calendar.  It does a heart good knowing that you can help make a difference, even if it's a small one.

Growing Up In Wrenshall, Living In Duluth

I loved growing up in Wrenshall.  There truly is something to be said about "growing up in a small town".  My roots are there and it's heart warming to go back and see so many people that have been a part of my life from a very young age.  The proper word for our community is "family".  As my profession and life progressed I moved to Duluth.  I'm ashamed to say that I didn't fully appreciate the beauty and all that Duluth had to offer until I moved here and matured.  I am absolutely in love with the Aerial Lift Bridge.  People travel the world to come see it, just like we travel to see the Eiffel Tower in Paris, France.  Ships from all over the world use our harbor as a port.  We have a Lakewalk that spans the city next to Lake Superior and Lake Superior itself is a phenomenon.  Plus, the people that live here are so giving of themselves.  It is a place that people could say "it's a nice place to visit AND I'd want to live there"!

    Football And Hockey

I was a season ticket holder of the Minnesota Vikings since 1988.  We had four of them, front row and second row on an end zone, but we had to give them up last year due to the Seat Builder's Fee that would have cost an additional $2500 PER SEAT.  But, my love of football stems back to when I was a cheerleader at Wrenshall so you will find me perched in front of the TV on the couch watching NFL and college games as much as possible.  SKOL VIKINGS!

A few years ago my daughter got me hooked on hockey.  Now I follow the UMD Bulldogs and the Minnesota Wild avidly!  We were season ticket holders of the UMD Bulldogs until a year ago, but still attend as many of the games as possible.  Go DOGS!

    CAKE!

I LOVE CAKE!  I am a self-proclaimed cake lovin' fanatic!!!  Especially wedding or birthday cake with that fluffy whipped frosting.  OR, I super love the Wacky Cake with the frosting that has flour, milk and Crisco (sounds healthy doesn't it). Ken, my co-host has taken my love of cake and tried to use it against me.
