Let the 2015 races begin! The Saint Fennessy 4K is a very fun event so you should register right away because only the first 500 people to register get in.

Registration is now available for the second running of the Saint Fennessy 4K, scheduled for Saturday, March 14 at 9:30 a.m. in Hermantown. This event – hosted by Grandma’s Marathon – is an untimed fun run and serves as a fundraiser for the Young Athletes Foundation.

The pre-registration entry fee is $25 with race-day registration available for $35 during packet pick up from 8 a.m. to 9:25 a.m. inside Hermantown High School. All net proceeds benefit the YAF, a Grandma's Marathon program that focuses on the promotion and development of youth athletics throughout Carlton, Cook, Douglas, Lake and St. Louis Counties.

The race will begin at Hermantown High School, travel along Arrowhead and Lavaque Roads and finish near McKenzie’s Bar & Grill in the Hermantown Square.

Prizes will be awarded for the best St. Patrick’s attire, as well as to the top male and female runners. Additional prizes and other post-race festivities will be held at McKenzie’s, where all finishers will receive a complimentary beverage ticket. Shuttle bus service will be available free of charge from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. for those wanting transportation between the finish area and Hermantown High School before or after the event.

The Saint Fennessy 4K was created in honor of longtime Grandma’s Marathon friend Don Fennessy, who passed away in 2011. Fennessy was an original member of both the Grandma’s Marathon board of directors and Young Athletes Foundation committee, and was inducted into the Grandma’s Marathon Hall of Fame in 2004. Don’s wife, Ella, who was also well known in the Twin Ports running community, passed away in 2013.

I plan on doing getting into this and I'd love to see you there this year.  Click here to register before it fills up.
