It was a foggy, misty Northland day when the P.I.G.S. Motorcycle Group held their ride to benefit St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.  Their efforts along with over 65 riders earned them recognition and a HUGE thank you from the kids of St. Jude.

Then the fun began as they rode mile after mile through the winding roads of Wisconsin and on the Delta Drummond making several stops along the way.  The ride ended at Tavern 105 in South Superior with games, tons of prizes, a genuine hog roast and the band Shocker on stage.  The ride brought in $3500 for the kids of St. Jude!!!!  Congratulations, P.I.G.S!!!!  They were award a plaque to hang at their meeting site, Landmark Lanes in Superior for their extraordinary efforts.

In the past the P.I.G.S. have donated time, energy and effort to rides that benefited the Vets.  They have been extremely successful and decided that they wanted to add kids to the list of community service, that’s why I got a call about St. Jude.  However, this isn’t my only dealing with the P.I.G.S.  Several members of the group donate their time on Thanksgiving to the Thanksgiving Day Buffet that is served at the DECC on Thanksgiving Day and delivered to many community members that are house bound.  On the Friday after Thanksgiving they are back at the DECC to help carry borrowed items back to the College of St. Scholastic with their own trucks and trailers.  Their continued support in this event and all the community events they are part of is welcomed and greatly appreciated.
