Bentleyville will not be officially open until November 17, but you will see parts of it lit tonight to kick off the Salvation Army-Duluth  2012 Christmas Red Kettle season.  The evening will start with a press conference at 5:00PM.

Mayor Don Ness will deliver a “Salvation Army Red Kettle Day” proclamation, and the event will mark the first day of The Salvation Army’s annual Red Kettle campaign.  The largest fundraising effort of the year.  Thank you to the 17 area businesses that will be hosting a Red Kettle through December 24th.

As we look ahead to the actual opening of Bentleyville, we should remind you that donations of toys and non-perishable food items will be collected as you enter.  These items will then be distributed by the Salvation Army to local needy families in Duluth, Cloquet, Hibbing, Chisholm, and Grand Rapids.
